Also, on ClassicSwan.Org, don't miss the article "Designer's Comments" by Olin Stephens of Sparkman & Stephens, the article about Swan 65 Sayula ll winning the inagural Whitbread Around the World race in 1973 and the article about the design and accomplishments of several other "Classic" Swan 65's. All three of these articles can be found in the right hand column on the front page of ClassicSwan.Org. The left hand column has several nice photos of Swan 65's that can be enlarged by clicking on them.
When we began looking for our "perfect" boat we first had to define "perfect". For us, "perfect" meant an older, well designed, safe, fast and pretty boat that needed her systems upgraded. Cassiopeia fit this definition perfectly when we first found her sitting unloved and lightly used at a brokerage in San Diego. After a lot of work, she's now a 1975 boat with thoroughly upgraded and modern systems.
